Hi everyone…Merry Christmas!!
Yes, we have finally arrived in the month of December and I know for most people…the stress levels start to get cranked way up.
I know that the Christmas season can get really busy..and so much of it is filled with a lot of fun. There are Christmas concerts and family gatherings, sports tournaments and shopping for presents. It’s always hard knowing how to dial things back and not go through the Christmas season at hyper speed.
This Sunday at Alderbrook is the second Sunday of Advent. I love going to church every week, but especially in December because it has so much meaning and purpose. I love hearing (and sharing) the story of God’s incredible love (and forethought) to send His only son as a baby. The story and account never gets old in my mind and every year it finds a special place deep in my heart.Emmanuel God With Us!! We will also be celebrating communion on Sunday too.
This Sunday night is our ACC Christmas banquet. If you have not picked up your tickets you can still get them on Sunday morning. Its going to be a great meal, lots of fun and laughter..trust me!!
Again, we all know that Christmas is busy and very hectic. Make sure that you take some time to remember what Christmas is all about…

The kidzone zone rooms are starting to feel the joy of Christmas in their crafts and activities in their class rooms. The red room is excited to be in costume this Sunday practicing their Christmas play for December 11th. We are hoping to have a short rehearsal on stage Sunday after church. We are excited to be working with some of the youth and adults for this years play. The green room is learning all about the Old Testament, and the yellow room is continuing their study on Joshua.
Middle School
Middle School Students will be meeting in room 204 after coffee 4:59. We will be watching and discussing Part 3 of the series, “The Shadow Service.” This weeks episode is about how Disciples of Jesus seek to meet the needs of others and help them out.
High School
High School Students will be meeting this Wednesday, December 7th from 7-8:30pm at CBC. Drop off is at the church parking lot at 7pm and pick up is at the church parking lot at 8:30pm. We will be watching and discussing the final episode of the series, “The Dark Side.” In this last episode we will help students understand that we know the end of the story. The Bible talks about it. God wins! God defeats death and Satan! Because of this, students can rest in the fact that God is in control of whatever they may feel like has control of them or whatever they’re going through or experiencing.
Events
Join us on December 14th from 6-9pm for our Christmas dinner and party! Turkey Dinner, Ginger Bread Houses, Christmas Cookies and a Movie NEED WE SAY MORE!!! Drop and pick up is at the Soeten’s house. #123-32880 Bevan Way. This event is for Middles and High School Youth. Hope to see you all out!! Please let us know if you are able to bring anything.
