Hello everyone,

I hope that you had a great week. It’s always hard getting back to work, school and other activities after a long weekend, right?

I want to thank all of those who came and participated in the Mexico fundraiser lunch after church last Sunday. A big shout out to the Lode’s for putting together a great lunch…as well as getting ready to lead  the team in July to Casa De Luz. Do you know that there is still room to participate on the trip? Why not take some time to pray about it or talk to the Lode’s…it could be a life-changing experience. Also, if you are interested in supporting the trip, you can do that on any Sunday or even online. Just mark it Mexico trip.

This Sunday we want to continue our series called, STAND. This week we are going to look at what it means not just to have a ‘courageous or bold’ life, but what about our church? Are we a ‘bold and courageous’ church? Its a good question to ask ourselves in light of what the Bible says in the book of Revelation. This Sunday we are going to look at the various letters that John wrote to the different churches in the book of Revelation. There are some incredible insights and principles that I believe are applicable for us today at Alderbrook Church. I have titled my message, “Stand…and go against the flow”. In our culture today many of us as individuals and many churches, just want to blend in, keep everyone comfortable, sit back and relax. Sadly however, its not the teaching that we see from the Bible, especially as John writes to the various churches in Asia Minor after Jesus left the earth.

In fact, what would Jesus say to Alderbrook Church today? What would he say to each of us as individuals? as families?
I hope to see you Sunday as we …stand and desire to build a ‘courageous and bold’ church.

In Kidzone we are in the middle of a series called ‘Agents in Action’ offering kids the thrill of accomplishing daily missions for God. Your children will develop an understanding of how to live as God’s disciples as they meet the challenges and choices they face in today’s world.

This Sunday’s daily mission is ‘God is with me’. Learning that God promises to be with me, no matter what happens now or in the future! “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
Ask your kids this Sunday what happened to a girl named Ruth.
