ACC @ CBC March 28, 2016

816_7669Didn’t I tell you the month of March was crazy full? We’ve sent out another missions team to Fiji, thrown the clocks ahead, navigated through Spring Break, celebrated Palm Sunday…and it only gets better.

This Sunday is Easter: He is Risen…He is Risen Indeed!!
It is going to be a great Sunday at Alderbrook this weekend. Gregg and Justin will be leading our music and worship. I hope that your hearts (and voices) are ready to do some worshipin’ and some praisin’. Easter Sunday just seems like the time when you pull out all of the stops…’cause that’s what Jesus did. I am reminded every Easter of the tremendous sacrifice and decision that Jesus made to go to the cross on our behalf. Many times He could have declined…in fact, we know that He had the power to call on the angels of heaven to come and rescue Him during this terrible ordeal. Yet, in obedience to His Father and a commitment to men, women, boys and girls, He endured the shame and the pain of the cross.

This Sunday our kids will also be involved in communicating the wonderful Easter story. We also have four people coming into membership at ACC and are saying that they desire to be a part of the body of Christ, represented in our local church. Right after church our kids will be enjoying the Chocolate Egg Hunt and then we will all gather together outside to witness a Believers Water Baptism. I am thrilled and amazed everytime an individual gets baptized in water. I believe that each one of us need to be constantly reminded of the powerful symbolism of following Christ’s example in the waters of baptism and that our sins are washed away.
Easter is a time to celebrate new life; its a time for new beginnings; its a time to thank Jesus for bringing us back home to God.

Why not invite someone to church this Sunday at Alderbrook?
He is Risen..He is Risen Indeed!!

*New Sermon Series coming in April: YES or NO Series

Two of the smallest words we use could be two of the most powerful words of our lives. In this series we want to look at what the Bible has to say about these two significant (yet small) words and how they can impact our lives, as well as those around us.

The Kids are busy preparing for Easter Sunday! The red room is preparing a skit for Easter, as well, as learning all about God’s promises and the Israelites’ journey to the promise land. The green and yellow room will have something as well for easter Sunday. still working on the details of that. They have been learning all about the first sin and we are started learning all about Easter and why we celebrate Easter. I am in the midst of putting together an exciting easter egg hunt for the children! We’re looking for the wrapped chocolate eggs, if anyone has any they’d be willing to donate to bring them to the church office or myself on a Sunday morning.
