Sunday, December 1 || Alderbrook Church

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the month of December!!

It’s the Christmas season and more importantly, the start of Advent…a time of preparation for the Christmas season.
Christmas is such a special time; I realize and know it’s a busy time and that’s why ‘advent’ is a wonderful reminder to us.
The word ‘advent’ actually means ‘Coming’ in Latin. As followers of Christ, the four  Sundays prior to Christmas reminds us of Jesus coming to this world.
It’s a time when we ‘prepare, remind ourselves and think’ about the real meaning of Christmas. Over the next four Sundays at Alderbrook we want to spend time preparing and remembering Christ’s birth.

On another note, Cheryl and I (along with Cary and Marla Chernoff) want to introduce our beautiful granddaughter that arrived this past week.
Her name is Livinia Rosalee Chernoff, born on Tuesday November 26th and weighing in at 7lbs 12 oz. She is absolutely stunning and gorgeous and has a strong set of lungs!! Cynthia and Nathan are doing great and are such wonderful parents…and her arrival is such a blessing. As I held her in my arms this week I was so thankful for the beautiful gift of life that God gives (Psalm 139).

This Sunday we start our Advent Series with a message titled, ‘Where Did It All Begin?’ As God looked upon the earth and decided to send his only Son, where did it start? When did it all begin? Why is this so important for us today?

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday,
Pastor Glenn and Cheryl
(a.k.a Grandpa and Grann)
