Are you having a great start to your Christmas season?
As Cheryl shared the Advent devotional about ‘Hope’ last week in church, my own prayer was simply, “Lord, I want to celebrate Christmas properly”.
I know that for someone who doesn’t like shopping and stays away from the mall, that it could be easy.
However, I want to really embrace the Christmas season for what it’s all about….the Christ-child that came to bring us hope, peace, joy and love.
This Sunday, Calvin Wiens will be leading the music/worship. This is a a great time to ‘prepare your heart for Christmas’. I realize that people’s schedules get super busy at this season, but don’t forfeit church and gathering together. You will be glad that you came!!
This Sunday we want to continue our series on “Joy to the Word” as we look at the topic of ‘Replacing Your Stress with Peace’. Is it possible, or is that just a nice Christian phrase or title? I believe it’s possible and I think that God wants to instruct us (from the Bible) how we can go through December with more peace and less stress.
My prayer for you this Christmas season is to find yourself ‘alone and unhurried in the presence of God’.

Christmas Eve at Alderbrook – We invite you and your family to join us for a one-hour (5-6pm) Christmas Eve service on December 24th. Join us for a special candlelight service filled with carols, Christmas reflections, and candy canes for the kids. Always a highlight of the year at Alderbrook Church!
