Hi everyone,
Happy New Year and welcome to a brand new year and a new decade- the year 2020 !!
I was going to reference the fact that most of us have made some New Years resolutions (and probably broken them too!!)
I heard on the radio that someone suggested that instead of trying to keep one resolution for a whole year, why not make 12 ‘shorter’ (monthly) resolutions.
Really?? I’m sure that it was well intended but I would rather mess up once rather than 12 times…LOL !!
Seriously, its the first Sunday of 2020 and I always believe in fresh starts, new beginnings and exciting opportunities.
Now some could say that I’m doing some positive thinking …but it’s more than that…it’s deeper.
In the Bible we see many references to “the God that gives us fresh starts and new beginnings”.
We read that his mercies are brand new every single morning.
One of my absolute favorites verses in found in Ephesians 3:20 that says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power in us”.
That’s not positive thinking- it’s re-thinking (and refocusing) in our minds and hearts that God’s Spirit lives, works and guides our lives every single day.
This Sunday we want to start a brand new series called the 2020 Vision Series.
A few years ago I went to the eye doctor guy, known also as an ophthalmologist.
As I sat in the chair he simply asked how my eyes were doing? I quickly said..fine!!
Well 30 seconds later, the good doctor had a different assessment.
Similarly, we can do the same thing in life. We think that everything is fine, but on closer analysis we find that things in our lives are blurry, hazy and out of focus. This Sunday we are going to look at the topic of “Getting God’s Vision For My Life”.
Why not start the year off right? We look forward to seeing you in church on Sunday.

2020 vison is a term used to express normal eye sight (clarity or sharpness of vision) measured at a distance of 20 feet. But what does that mean spiritually?
This series will explore how we can sharpen our vision to see what God wants us to see.
