Hello everyone,
Christmas is almost here!!
It says in John chapter 3 verse 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. I am so thankful that we can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and of Jesus Christ being born and coming to earth to bring us back to God…. ‘Emmanuel, God with us’!
We are so excited to celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent at Alderbrook Church this weekend.
‘Advent’ means ‘coming’ and is a time of expectancy and preparation for both the celebration of the birth of Christ as well as looking to the return of Jesus at the Second Coming. This Sunday we will be sharing the fourth attribute of Advent which is ‘Love’. In the midst of all the restrictions, suspensions and limitations we can still find the incredible hope, peace, joy and love that Jesus Christ gives us.
Back on Monday December 7th, Dr. Bonnie Henry extended the ‘gathering restrictions of all faith groups’ until January 8th 2021 (which will be reviewed at that time). Our Alderbrook Church Services will be on Zoom for the following Sundays ( December 27th and January 3rd).
Again this Sunday we will be offering one (1) Sunday Zoom service that will start at 10am. Also, Cassidy will be doing a Kidzone lesson for the children from 9:30am-9:45am…why not log onto Zoom early?
Remember that the church is open even if the building we meet in is closed!! We can truly celebrate the real meaning of Christmas no matter what limitations or restrictions we face.

Some may be looking ahead and asking about our Christmas Eve service?
Unfortunately, we will not be meeting together at CBC on Christmas Eve, however we will be offering a ‘virtual/zoom’ Christmas Eve carols and candlelight (virtual candles..lol !!) service that the Alderbrook family can join together from 6pm-7pm on Thursday December 24th .
