Sunday, Novemer 10 || Alderbrook Church

Hi everyone,
This weekend is Remembrance Day!!
We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world, but also a place where we can live with such great freedom.
I know we aren’t a perfect country, but when you look around the world and see the various struggles that some countries are facing…We are certainly blessed.
I always think of the prayer that is embedded into our national anthem, “God keep our land, glorious and free’….we are so blessed and thankful for those that gave their lives so the we can live in freedom and peace.

This Sunday we want to continue our series on ‘Free to Be Me’. What does that mean and how do we achieve it?
Some may look at that title and decide that we need to take control and shape our lives the way that we want to live.
It’s actually the opposite !!

Do you know the Jesus gave a great metaphor in the Bible about two choices that we have in life.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14 that we will have the choice of two gates (or two ways) that every person will enter sooner or later.
The Bible explains that there is a really wide gate  that actually leads down a road to destruction; and then there’s a narrow gate that leads to life…. and sadly Jesus says…only a few find it.
What do these gates and roads mean for us today? What is the life that Jesus wants me to live? What gate should I choose? What road am I on?
We want to look at what the Bible says about “Letting Go” …so that we can be free to be me!

See you on Sunday,
pastor Glenn and Cheryl
