It’s the middle of summer…some people refer to it as the ‘dog-days of summer’. I’m not sure where that term came from or what it really means…but I think it probably relates to a lazy dog laying in some shade during a hot summer day?!? Any other suggestions or explanations??
We are going to try and have another Outdoor service this Sunday on the campus of CBC.
We had scheduled an outdoor service last week, but the weather really didn’t cooperate.
This Sunday Andrew Potts will be leading the music and worship. I am so thankful for the musicians that God has blessed ACC with and their desire to bring our church closer into the presence of God. I have also asked David Rathjen to bring the Word of God to us this Sunday. I am always thrilled to sit under the preaching and teaching of our missionaries..and I know that Dave’s message will be challenging, encouraging and inspirational. You will not want to miss this Sunday!!
We are also going to have a ‘Pizza Fest’ right after church (by donation)…so bring a few bucks and stay for some pizza and root beer. Food is one of our core values at ACC and we love our food!!
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Pastor Glenn and Cheryl

This Month’s Sermon:
“The Yellow/Green room will be continuing their study on Peter and the centurion Cornelius teaching your little ones that God has a special place for them in His Church! The Red room will be continuing their studying about Jesus’ love for them and the world.

Our church is having an outdoor service this Sunday so we will be meeting outside. We will be starting a new series called, “Skate It Off.” In this series we will learn about character and what it means and looks like to have a godly character.
Character is all your inward traits, which produce outward actions. A person of godly character is selfless, caring, hardworking, joyful, and honest.
Look at what it says in 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his
height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things
people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord
looks at the heart.”
Our next event is our Beach Day at Hayward Lake on Saturday, August 20th, from 10am-2pm. Lunch and games will be provided. Bring beach gear and whatever snacks you may want to share. If you need a ride or directions don’t hesitate to ask Hanna or Joel. Hope to see you all out!!!
*WE HAVE POSTPONED OUR LINDEMAN LAKE HIKE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24TH TO SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10TH.
