ACC @CBC November 30, 2014

Skating WebI know its the last day of November…”but its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!”

Some of you are regretting that last line, but whatever you might think, tomorrow is December 1st and we are on our way towards “the most wonderful time of the year”. Okay I’ll stop inserting Christmas carols into the Enotes…

For lots of people the mention of Christmas means stress, extra work, more bills and that dreaded and chaotic trip to the mall. For a moment can we stop and look how we celebrate Christmas in our society today compared to the way the Bible tells the story? Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas and even just getting together with family and friends means extra preparation, events and planning. However, we can’t lose sight of the real and true meaning of Christmas. Need help? Need answers?

This Sunday we continue our series titled LIFE: Mysterious or Miraculous with a message called, “Avoiding A Christmas Meltdown’. Its not a self-help talk or encouragement on how to manouvre the parking lots at Highstreet or Seven Oaks Mall. No, we are going to the Bible to see what happened at the birth of Jesus. I know the holidays can be busy, hard and stressful..but they can also be amazing, rewarding and significant in your families life.

On another note, didn’t the CBC students do a great job last week. I was so proud of all of them and really appreciated their involvement in the Sunday service. I also want to thank the many people who want to bless our CBC service students with Christmas gifts…you are such an amazing church, Alderbrook!

We hope to see you in church on Sunday, ’cause I’m dreamin’ of a white Christmas (sorry!)

Pastor Glenn and Cheryl

(Note change in time: Casa de Luz July meeting will be just after church on Sunday for a half an hour… is God tapping on your shoulder?  Come see what it’s all about!)
