ACC November 4, 2018

Hi everyone ,

Did you survive?  Ho much candy have you consumed? This past Wednesday was Halloween and I’m sure that for the kids at school (or some work offices) that Halloween was in full force.
I’m sure that there might be a little bit of chocolate that was devoured this week !!

This Sunday, one of our CBC students will be leading the music and singing. Calvin Wiens led the music a few weeks ago and it was a great experience to be led into the presence of God.
Make sure you come with your heart (and mind..and body) prepared to worship God. When we gather together and proclaim the name of Jesus there are many things that happen. Let’s anticipate that time as we gather and sing!

This Sunday it is an extreme pleasure to have a long-time, special friend come and share at Alderbrook Church. Hans Tokke and I grew up together at Broadway Church in Vancouver. We have known each other over 50 years and hung out as kids, teenagers, young adults and married couples (his wife’s name is Cheryl too!). A few years ago God called Hans and Cheryl to New York City where he and Cheryl teach in two of the universities; both of them are education doctors. Cheryl and I had the wonderful privilege of visiting the Tokke’s in NYC last February …and like most visits we just pick up where we left off. They are a top notch couple and I am so excited that Hans is able to come and share.
Hans has an incredible message from God’s word for our church.

Also remember this weekend to turn the clocks back one hour…so you get an extra hour of sleep!! (Yaayy!!) It’s my favourite Sunday of the year….LOL.
Also, just so that you know…. we will wait until November 11th to have communion at ACC, so we can also reflect on our Remembrance Day.

Don’t miss church this Sunday; we will see you at Alderbrook.

This Sunday at Kidzone

Hi parents!

To end off the month of October, we combined all the Kidzone classrooms into one!
We did some big-groups actives, crafts, active worship, and ended off our time with a movie! We are also so excited to start getting ready for Christmas, and we would love it if you talked to your kids this week and asked if they had any talents they wanted to share or preform for the Church in our very first “Alderbrook’s Got Talent” show! We will be passing out clipboards this Sunday in church (parents are welcome to sign up as well!! 😉 so we can start getting ready for the performance! We are planning to have the talent show on December 16.
This week’s verse is Ephesians 3:1 “There is a season for everything… a time to laugh and a time to cry.”
