Hi everyone,
Cheryl and I had a wonderful time in California and we are so excited to be back…it’s Palm Sunday!!
As a young child I always loved Palm Sunday; the excitement, the anticipation and thrill around Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey.
It is probably one of the most vivid pictures in my faith journey as I picture Jesus starting his triumphal entry and the crowds shouting, ‘Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest’.
It still sends chills up my back every time I think about it.
This Sunday Calvin will be leading the worship and singing…as we declare that Jesus is the Messiah…Hosanna in the highest !!
We know that the triumphal entry into Jerusalem really was the beginning of Christ’s walk to the cross. Even though the crowds welcomed and exalted him…they quickly turned and demanded that a reckless prisoner named Barabbas would be released instead of Jesus.
Wow…how can people swing so quickly and so violently in less than a week? (Sounds a lot like our world today doesn’t it?)
This Sunday, I will be sharing on the topic, ‘The Triumphal Entry and the Intended Exit’. As Jesus began his walk into Jerusalem, it was for one specific purpose…the “intended exit,” also known as the cross!
We will also be sharing communion together…just like the disciples did with Jesus as he prepared for the cross.

The verse that we focused on for this past week was, “This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come…” Matthew 6:9-10a. We specifically talked about the “your kingdom come” line.
