April 24th ~ Discover Church Church is People Not a Place by Glenn Embree

Acts 2:42,44,46,47 “They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.”

If the church is all about relationships it means….

1. We were _________________ to participate in ___________________________.

Ephesians 5:25-25 (NCV) “Christ loved the church and gave himself up for it to make it belong to God.”

Romans 12:4,5 “ Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

2. We believe that __________________ are better than _______________________.

Galatians 6:2, 10 “Carry each others burdens , and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially those who belong to the family of believers.”

Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on to love and good deeds.”

3. We need to see the church as a ___________________ not a __________________.

Ephesians 2:19-22 “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

4. We will __________________________ through ____________________________.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity is anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
