Sunday, January 2 || Alderbrook Church

Happy New Year!!

We trust that you had a wonderful Christmas taking time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Let’s stay close to Jesus as we start a brand new year together.

This Sunday we are pleased to have Austin Toews speak at Alderbrook Church. Austin was our KIdzone and Middle School director a few years ago and I know he will have a great word to begin our brand new year.

I’m sure that a lot of people are a little hesitant and worried about the start of 2022. With the Omicron variant spreading it’s quite easy to be unnerved, hesitant and even scared of what may happen this new year. However, have you ever considered what could happen if we focused our lives completely on God and his daily presence in our lives?

Now just to be clear, I’m not advocating thinking only positive thoughts, nor do I have my ‘head in the sand’… but in spite of all the global fears, could you stop and imagine what God could do in you and through you over this next year? If God is our Saviour and our Lord and we know that He has everything under control … what could potentially happen in our personal life or family life for His purpose and glory??

Our next sermon series “Best Year Yet” starts on January 9th, here is a sneak peek:

Jan 9th ~ Focusing on My True Identity
Jan 16th ~ What is God Asking Me?
Jan 23rd ~ How to Fix a Broken Dream
Jan 30th ~ What is Your Defining Moment?

Feb 6th ~ Spiritual Transformation
Feb 13th ~ Moving Forward to My Destiny

If you cannot attend church this Sunday, why not join online through our Zoom stream:

Kidzone starts at 10:30am and is for those in Kindergarten to Grade 5! Our current series is Thankfulness where we take a deeper look at how people in the Bible responded to God’s blessings.

We also encourage the kids to learn the series Bible verse (if they memorize it they get a prize!):

“Today in a town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:11 (NIV)

If you’re a middle school student, why not stop by the youth room every other Sunday? The next time we’ll meet is October 24! Also, feel free to come before (9:30am) and after (12pm) service to hang out with the other youth!

We also meet Sunday Evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the CBC Chaple, we would love for you to come and be a part of the Books of the Bible series we are doing. Everyone from grades 6-12 is welcome 🙂
