Hello everyone,

Welcome to the month of September!!

Cheryl and I are so glad to be back at Alderbrook this Sunday…we can honestly say that we missed the ACC Family this summer. Thank you for allowing us the time to rest and get refreshed.

****Due to CBC College needing the chapel this Sunday, September 4th, we will be meeting at 10am online through our Zoom stream. Why not jump on at 9:30am to connect and chat? We would love to see you…

On Sunday, September 11th we will be kicking off our fall season back at the CBC Chapel. The coffee is on, our Kidzone, Youth and Young Adult groups are happening, we will have Communion together, it’s Name Tag Sunday and we will be having an ACC Family Lunch, right after church…

We are also starting a brand new series: “Life on Mission.”  Did you know that your life matters a great deal to God and that God wants to use you? God wants each one of us to use our lives to make a difference and to have purpose…what does your ‘life on a mission’ look like?

Sermon Notes

Pt 1 ~ A Person who Pleased God

Glenn Embree

Sunday September 11th 2022

Hebrews 11:5 (NLT) “It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying- ‘he disappeared because God took him’. For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.”

How did Enoch ‘please God’?

1. Enoch made _________________________ to walk with God.

1 John 1:7 “If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.”

Romans 13:3 “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.”

2. Enoch walked in _____________ and ____________________ to God.

Amos 3:3 (Msg) “Do two people walk hand in hand if they aren’t going to the same place?”

3. Enoch kept his _____________________ and ______________________ with God.

James 4:8 “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.”

Ephesians 5:15-17 (ESV) “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

4. Enoch ___________________ his __________________________ with God.

John 16:13-15 “But when he, The Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own, he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take what is mine and make it known to you.”

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

5. Enoch’s walk was ___________________ by other ____________________.

Hebrews 11:5 “ …he (Enoch) was commended as one who pleased God.”

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared us in advance to do.”
