We have finally arrived in the month of December!
Right after any month that is warm and sunny…December is my favorite time of the year.
December is usually pretty busy and hectic isn’t it. There are Christmas parties, Christmas shopping, Christmas lights to be hung and Christmas exams (for some of the college and university students). But did you catch the repetitive word…..its the word Christmas. In fact, take a moment to think about the first part of the word Christmas…it simply says Christ.
I am hoping that during this month of December, the Christmas season….that we will be able to focus our attention on Christ. I love the carolling, the gifts, the lights…but the most important aspect of the Christmas season is Jesus: Emmanuel God with us!!
This Sunday Cal and Chrissy and the team will be leading us in music, singing and worship. Cheryl will be bringing up another family to light the second Advent candle as we focus on the birth of Jesus Christ.
I want to conclude my series this Sunday with a message titled, Making Room for Miracles at Christmas. Isnt it crazy to think that we get so busy celebrating Christmas that we forget about Christ, whom Christmas is all about. I encourage (and challenge) you to watch your margins and space over the next few weeks. Take some time for reflection, some worship..and some rest…and make sure that you make room for the miraculous to invade your life.
See you at church this Sunday,
Pastor Glenn and Cheryl
