Hi everyone,
You are probably thinking that finally…the ACC staff has lost it!?! Whatever gave you that idea? (lol) It’s the 13 Days of Summer at Alderbrook Church and this Sunday is going to be a special one…its “Christmas in June”… and yes, we picked the warmest day of the year (so far!) Even though we like to joke around and have a lot of fun..we are also very serious. This Sunday is June 25th which means that it’s exactly six months to Christmas!! Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Bah Humbug!! Seriously, as a staff we talked about how Christmas really is all about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, and why should we just limit that to Christmas? It is a great reminder..even at the beginning of summer that Jesus came as a baby as a Savior for our world. Emmanuel..God with us. It never gets old.
As we celebrate we also want to have a little fun too. There will be candy canes for the kids and we wanted to have hot apple cider and hot chocolate. Not this Sunday!! We will have cold apple cider and cold chocolate drinks… plus there will be Christmas cookies to decorate!
It’s going to be a warm one so we will have the air-conditioning on at church.

p.s. Next week on Sunday July 2nd is our Canada Day 150 outdoor service/carnival right on the campus of CBC. There will also be a BBQ lunch for everyone..with tons of games to play after church!! Invite some friends.
