Sunday, October 25 || Alderbrook Church

Hello everyone,

We hope you had a great week!!
This Sunday we continue our sermon series called “Re-Think Money 2020”.In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic I’m sure that you’ve thought about your finances more than once or twice (or more). In fact, it’s probably been on your mind a lot!! What does the Bible say about money? How do we view our money during a global pandemic? What does God want us to understand about finances? We are also super excited to have the CBC Music Team with us this Sunday.
Will you also sign up for our church services at the CBC chapel (all November Sundays are available)

Please sign up early, so that we know how many services to offer to accommodate everyone.***We don’t want to turn anyone away from church because you forgot to sign up. Due to the limit of 50 people in the building, everyone will be required to sign up online.
Kidzone (weekly) and Middle school youth (Oct 25th) will be offered at the 9:30am service only.

Upcoming Events…

Alderbrook Church Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Pandemic or not… we are required to hold our AGM this fall and we have scheduled it for this Sunday October 25th at 6:30pm on Zoom Video.

The link will be sent out to all of the ACC membership; if you are not a member but would like to attend (without voting privileges) please email the church.

Trunk or Treat

Instead of children going from house to house on October 31st…especially during the pandemic restrictions, we are inviting families to come to the CBC Parking Lot from 6pm-7pm.

This isn’t an ‘open or drop in’ event. People won’t be admitted by simply walking by CBC. Like our ACC church services …. families must pre-register online. We also encourage ACC families to invite a neighbour family to come with them and enjoy a safe, fun, and exciting Trunk or Treat.

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at the chapel or on Zoom this Sunday.

Sundays at Kidzone:

Please note that at this time, Kidzone is only offered during the 9:30am service 🙂

This week in Kidzone we did something a little different. After meeting in the main classroom, we split up into two different groups. The younger kids learned that cacao powder tastes very bitter but when sugar and butter is added it becomes the sweet chocolate that we all love. In the same way God can use bitter people and make them into sweet and loving Christians like Saul –> Paul for example. The older children also had a lesson about Saul becoming Paul.

Summary: Saul was the #1 enemy of Christianity, but an encounter with the living Christ changed his life. Saul became Paul, and Paul became the most important missionary in church history. There is no one too bad for God to save, and we as believers need to be willing to welcome them to God’s family.
Verse: Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him. Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! Psalm 32:10-11
