Hello everyone,
Our family arrived back this week after a great vacation and time away. It was such a good time of rest and relaxation for all of us…but especially Cheryl and I. It was also such a great time to hang with our five kids…who confirmed what I’ve always known…that they are a bunch of coconuts!!
I am so looking forward to this weekend….it’s Mothers Day, so we want to honor all the ladies at Alderbrook Church. I think we have the most wonderful group of godly ladies (all ages) in the country. You are blessed and you are a gift to the church, the body of Christ. I appreciate the collective ministry and involvement from all of our women from those who sit on the leadership team, to singing on the worship team, teaching Sunday school and preparing meals for the Cyrus Centre. You ladies rock !!
This Sunday Gregg will be leading the music along with a great group of musicians. Did I ever tell you how much I appreciate our musicians….haha…yes!! I love the way that you lead our singing from celebration and declaration into the gentle presence of God…wow…it’s going to be good this Sunday.
Finally, I want to start a brand new series called ‘Bless This House’. I’m sure everyone in Abbotsford wants to have a home that is happy, stress free and peaceful. That’s a given !! But too often we stumble through relationships that mean the most to us…our family. This Sunday we want to talk about how to honor God and build a home that is blessed . Part one is titled, ‘ Moms…You ‘Da Best’

This Sunday is Mother’s Day and what’s better than learning about the best moms in the Bible. The children this Sunday will be learning about the mother of Jesus, the mother of Moses, and the Mother of Jacob and Esau. Three great moms that each have something important to teach us about our own moms. Do you know all three of their names? “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30
