We have arrived in the month of December!! I know that it might ‘look and feel’ a little different this season with all of the health restrictions, but my hope is that you don’t just focus on the ‘commercialism’ of Christmas. Let’s realize the true meaning of Christmas and of Jesus Christ being born and coming to earth…. ‘Emmanuel, God with us’!! We are so excited to celebrate the second Sunday of Advent at Alderbrook Church.’ Advent’ means ‘coming’ and is a time of expectancy and preparation for both the celebration of the birth of Christ as well as looking to the return of Jesus at the Second Coming.
This Sunday Cheryl will be bringing the message as we look at the second attribute of Advent which is ‘Peace’. We will also be celebrating communion together on Zoom. In the midst of all the restrictions, suspensions, and limitations we can still find our ‘Peace’ through Jesus Christ.
Due to the announcement a few weeks ago by Dr. Bonnie Henry suspending ‘faith groups’ up to 50 in number, we will be gathering together for an Alderbrook Zoom Church Service this Sunday, December 6th. (The BC Health restriction is to be reviewed on Monday, December 7th). Again this Sunday we will be offering one (1) Sunday Zoom service that will start at 10am. Remember that the church is open even if the building we meet in is closed!! We can truly celebrate the real meaning of Christmas no matter what limitations or restrictions we face.

We look forward to seeing you on Zoom this Sunday.
