Hi everyone,
The calendar doesn’t lie!!
This Sunday is August 31st, though not the last day of summer but the last Sunday before we head into the fall season.
As I write this, there still doesn’t seem to be any movement in the Teachers strike. Again, would you be praying for our government and also the BC Teachers that both sides will be able to come to an agreement so that our kids can get back into the classroom.
This Sunday I am excited to have Kris Baker speaking at Alderbrook. Kris speaks in various and numerous places around the world, such as Sri Lanka, the Philippines…and even that foreign country called Newfoundland. ( trust me: they speak a whole different language on the Rock) . Kris is an avid Seahawks and UW Huskies fan…so I think I’m safe to say that his theology is good…lol. We are blessed at ACC to have Kris, Paulette, Ty and Kristine….
Would you mark your calendars for Sunday September 14th as we kick off the fall here at ACC. Right after church we are going to have the jumphouses and activities outside, as well as the BBQ grill fired up. Make sure that you sign up on a clipboard in church over the next few weeks, so we know how many are coming.
Finally, one of the key areas of ACC is our Lifegroups. Why not carve some time this September for getting together with a community of believers this fall. Our Lifegroups are so foundational to what our church is all about…in fact, I am a part of a men’s Lifegroup…they are my ‘ Band of Brothers’. Join a Lifegroup this fall….
Enjoy this long weekend.

*Sermon Series: “Refresh”
The summer months can get warm and most of us just want to relax, stay out of the heat and get REFRESHED.
Whether it is a glass of ice cold lemonade, the shade of a tree or some air conditioning, we look for some relief from the heat.
The Bible tells us how we can be refreshed. Join us for our sermon series in August out of the book of Psalms.
Aug 10th Finding Real Contentment (Psalm 23)
Aug 17th Learning How to Rest (Psalm 63)
August 24th Build a Life of Thanks (Psalm 66)
Aug 31st Staying Close to God During Trouble (Psalm 68)
In Kidzone we are starting a series called Treasure Seekers and taking a look at different characteristics of God. Young treasure seekers will love the fun island-related activities including games, worship, snacks, art and bible stories.
This Sunday is all about how God knows us. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14. We can thank God for knowing us and loving us!
Check out the fall youth calendar!
The Fun starts September 7th. There is something for everyone! Grade 6 to grade 12. Every Sunday night we will have a youth event or activity!
We will see all you middle school students this Sunday in the Orange Room!
