ACC @ CBC September 13

Did everyone survive the first week of school?
After a great summer that was filled with hot and humid weather, I’m sure that it was a little difficult to get back into a routine of making lunches, getting the kids to bed earlier and driving slower in school zones.

This weekend is Back to School Sunday at Alderbrook. We want to welcome all the college students back to the campus…and also all the kids/students that will be heading to elementary, middle school and highschool.
Our youngest, Jared had his first day of his final year of public education….where did the time go? Is seems like yesterday that we were living in Las Vegas, Nevada and he had his school uniform on for the first time and heading off to kindergarten. Whether your child is just starting school or graduating from highschool or attending college we want to pray for all the students that attend ACC this Sunday. We also want to pray for the ‘educators’ in our church…teachers, school officials, home school educators….’cause we know the valuable role that you play in the shaping and molding of children and youth. We want to say a huge thank you!!

This Sunday the coffee and bagels will be on, there will be great music as we sing together and lift up God’s name. I have shared this before…that I just love the opportunity to sing together and bring God praise. There is something that happens when we join together and sing, worship and proclaim God’s wonderful attributes and deeds. We will also be having a baby dedication, as Noel and Theresa Mondhe will be bringing their beautiful daughter Anaya to be prayed over. I will be bringing a message that God has placed on my heart that is titled…The Church is PEOPLE…not a PLACE!!

Have you joined a Lifegroup at ACC yet? Why not check the bulletin or website this weekend and plan to be a part of a small group at Alderbrook. I attend one every Wednesday with a bunch of guys at Starbucks and I can honestly say that it is one of the highlights of my week: Its my band of brothers!!

Finally, this Sunday afternoon is Heather Ryan’s memorial service at ACC at 3pm in the CBC chapel. May you continue to uphold Chris, Nicola (Frank) and Alexa over this time and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Bless you and we will see you in church this Sunday,

Pastor Glenn and Cheryl

This week in Kidzone we are starting a new series called “TruthLab Investigations” a 13-lesson adventure for children ages 4–11. The fun and excitement of a wacky research lab is combined with discoveries Dr. Luke—our Head Researcher—made into Jesus’ life. Through these stories, kids will discover what God says about each of us as His children.

This Sunday kids will be looking at one of Jesus’ BIG miracles to discover that God says He will always do what is best for me. I am secure. “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. He appointed them to be saved in keeping with his purpose.” Romans 8:28
