1 John 4:7-8 (Msg) “My beloved friends, let us continue to love one another since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love- so you can’t know him if you don’t love.”

Text: Matthew 9:35-38

1. We need to be ____________________ in __________________________.

Matthew 9:35 “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.”

2. We need to have _________________ on those _____________________.

Matthew 9:36 “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd.”

‘harassed’_____________________________________________

‘helpless’ _____________________________________________

The word ‘Compassion’ has two parts

                                   ‘com’ ____________________

                                   ‘passion’ _________________

3.We actually have a _____________________ for the ______________________.

Matthew 9:37 “Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.'”

James & John-Luke 9:54  ___________________________________

Disciples -Mark 6:34

Jesus’ teaching on compassion to others:

         Luke 10:30-37 _______________________________________

         Luke 15: 11-24 _______________________________________

4. We are the ___________________ to the ___________________________.

Matthew 9:38 “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
