Ephesians 4:30-32 (Msg/NIV) “Don’t grieve God. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most important part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another quickly and thoroughly as God inChrist forgave you.”

How Can I Deal With People Who Tick Me Off?  (Matthew 18:21-35)

1. Become a forgiveness _________________________.

Matthew 18:21-22 (NLT) “Then Peter came to him and asked, ‘Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times? No! Jesus replied, seventy times seven.”

2. ____________________ myself that I tick people off too.

Matthew 18:23-25 (NLT) “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.”

   *Standard coin: Denarius= 1 days wages ($50)

     1 Talent= 6,000 Denarius= $300,000

   *Servant A owed 10,000 talents = $_______________________

3. ______________________ how much God forgave me.

Matthew 18:26-27 (NLT) “ The servant fell on his knee’s before him. ‘Be patient with me’, he begged, and I will pay back everything’. The servant’s mater took pity on him and cancelled his debt and let him go.”

4. Refuse to hold a ________________________ against people.

Matthew 18:28-30 (NLT) “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded. His fellow servant fell to his knee’s and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back’. But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.”

   *Standard coin: Denarius= 1 days wages= $50

   *Servant B owed: 100 denarii = $________________________

Colossians 3:13 (LB) “Never hold grudges. Remember the Lord forgave you, so youmust forgive others.”

5. Understand that my bitterness is a bad _________________________.

Matthew 18:31 (NLT) “When the other servants saw what happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.”

6. Forgive quickly or __________________________ God’s blessing.

Matthew 18:32-35 (NLT) “Then the master called the servant in. ’You wicked servant’,he said. ‘I cancelled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all that he owed. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from the heart.”

7. Don’t wait for a ____________________ but choose to ________________.

Matthew 5:23-24 (NLT) “ Jesus: So if you are standing before the altar in the Temple, offering a sacrifice to God, and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there beside the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer sacrifice to God.”

Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse”.
