ACC @ CBC October 18, 2015

Hi everyone,

Did you have a great Thanksgiving weekend? I hope that you enjoyed the time with family and friends…and that you didn’t over-indulge too much with the turkey or the pumpkin pie!!
There are so many references in the Bible about ‘being thankful or thankfulness’…so let’s make sure that we don’t move on to the next holiday ( like Halloween, yikes!!) and completely forget about being thankful to our God.

This Sunday Gregg and the team will be leading us in music, singing and worship. Have you ever considered how many songs have the theme of ‘thanks, praise, adoration, etc…’ in the lyrics and the words?

When you come to church this Sunday, why not prepare your heart so that you are tuned-up, ready to go and engaged in what God wants to do…..sounds like a plan!!

It is my pleasure to introduce a special guest speaker this Sunday. Ken Dobson, is a special friend to Cheryl and I and he will be speaking at our ACC Missions emphasis this Sunday. Ken and I grew up in the same church in Vancouver (Broadway Church) and were both mentored under an incredible senior pastor. In 1993 Ken invited Cheryl and I to join the staff at Bethel Church a large church in San Jose, California… a time that we thoroughly enjoyed and loved. Ken is coming to share about a missions outreach that was actually started by his aunt and uncle, Dr. Mark and Huldah Buntain. The outreach is called “Calcutta Mission Of Mercy”…have a look at the website before Sunday(www.ccmcanada.org). You will be so inspired and challenged to hear how this outreach began and what is taking place in Calcutta, India today. I am so thrilled that our church has caught such an excitement for outreach and missions. We will be receiving a second offering for missions this Sunday.

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Glenn and Cheryl

We have started a new exciting curriculum for our 2-6 year olds!  This new curriculum teaches your littlest attenders about Jesus and allows them to reinforce what they learn in church at home through an amazing kids bible app and online resources. Download the kids bible app today!  For the next couple week the Green and Yellow Room will be learning not to fear through the story of Daniel in  “A Roaring Rescue.”
This week in Kidzone The older elementary kids are in their series called “TruthLab Investigations.” Fun lesson about discoveries Dr. Luke—our Head Researcher—made into Jesus’ life. Through these stories, kids will discover what God says about each of us as His children.
This Sunday kids will be looking at one of Jesus’ parables to discover that God says He will answer my prayers. I am heard. “God, I call out to you because you will answer me. Listen to me. Hear my prayer.” Psalm 17:6

Ask your child what Jesus’ parable was this Sunday!
