Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2018.
I trust that you survived the ice and power outages but enjoyed the extra time with the kids before they start school next week.
January is always a unique time; Cheryl never likes taking down the Christmas decorations, because she says that the house doesn’t look festive anymore. I agree but January is also a time of new beginnings, fresh starts and getting back into school, work and routine (which isn’t all bad!)
Just in case you missed the news over the holidays, Allie, our Kidzone Director is stepping down due to an increased work schedule at the doctor’s office. Let me again thank Allie for her leadership with the children of ACC over the past two years. We have deeply appreciated her ministry, heart and work with the kids and families of Alderbrook.
This Sunday we want to announce our new Kidzone Director. Yup, you have to come to find out who it is!! Kidzone has always been a priority here at ACC and we believe that this next chapter will continue to be exiting for the kids and families at ACC.
This Sunday I want to start a new series titled, “Uncomfortable..Facing Life with Faith”. I know that the title show be something like ‘chill, or relax, or take it easy’, but we are going to look at our faith and how God has designed us to grow, mature and become more like Jesus. It’s the same principle that most people face after Christmas when they feel that they need to get back to the gym, or exercise. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable, but completely necessary and very worthwhile. It’s time to grow spiritually!
It’s also the first Sunday of the month as we receive Communion and remember the wonderful gift of salvation through Christ’s death on the cross.
