Sunday, January 30 || Alderbrook Church

Hello everyone,

Did January just fly by???
We have been focusing on one specific premise at Alderbrook Church this new year; this is my prayer and I hope that it is yours too: “I pray that my relationship with God gets even better in 2022.”

I’m sure that a lot of people are a little hesitant and worried as we start 2022… it’s quite easy to be unnerved, hesitant and even scared of what may happen this new year.
However, have you ever considered what could happen if we focused our lives completely on God and his daily presence in our lives?
Could you stop and imagine what God can do in you and through you over this next year?? If God is our Saviour and our Lord …and we know that He has everything under control…what could potentially take place in your personal life or family life for His purpose and glory?

We are continuing our ‘Best Year Yet’ Series…
Jan 30th ~ What is Your Defining Moment?

Feb 6th ~ Spiritual Transformation
Feb 13th ~ Moving Forward to My Destiny

If you cannot attend church this Sunday, why not join online through our Zoom stream.

Remember…2022 could be your ‘best year yet.’

Sermon Series

January 23rd ~ Best Year Yet, What is your Defining Moment? by Glenn Embree

“I pray that my relationship with God gets even better in 2022”

Philippians 2:13 (Amp) “For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.”

Text: Nehemiah chapters 1-4

1. I need to ______________________ that my ____________________ is on God.

Nehemiah 1:3-4 “…the wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire. When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.”

2. God wants to ________________ what our __________________________ is.

Nehemiah 2:4-5 “The king said to me, ‘What is that you want?’ Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and I answered the king, ‘If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my fathers are buried so that I can rebuild it.'”

Nehemiah 2:11-12 “I went to Jerusalem, and after staying there three days I set out during the night with a few men. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem. There were no mounts with me except the one I was riding on.”

3. God is looking for ___________________ who will ______________________ others.

Nehemiah 2:17 “Then I said to them, ‘You see the trouble that we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and we will no longer be in disgrace.'”

Nehemiah 2:18 “ I also told them about the gracious hand of God upon me and what the king had said to me. They replied, ‘Let’s start rebuilding’. So they began this good work.”

4. God is looking for _______________ who will ______________________ in His plan.

Alderbrook Vision Statement:

We believe that we are personally called to participate together in the purposes of God.

Nehemiah 3:4 “Meremoth son of Uriah, the son Hakkoz, repaired the next section. Next to him Mehullum son of Berekiah, the son of Meshezabel, made repairs and next to him Zadok son of Banna also made repairs.”

Nehemiah 3:5 “The next section was repaired by the men of Tekoa, but their nobles would not put their shoulders to the work under their supervisors.”

Nehemiah 3:12 “Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of the half-district of Jerusalem, repaired the next section with the help of his daughters.”

Nehemiah 3:23 “Beyond them, Benjamin and Hasshub made repairs in front of their house; and next to them, Azariah son of Maaseiah, the son of Ananaiah, made repairs beside his house.”

Nehemiah 4:6 “So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.”
