Sunday, February 6 || Alderbrook Church

Hello everyone,

Well, was the groundhog accurate (Groundhog Day) this past Wednesday? Six more weeks of winter or an early Spring??

We have been focusing on one specific premise at Alderbrook Church this new year. This is my prayer and I hope that it is yours too: “I pray that my relationship with God gets even better in 2022.”

I’m sure that a lot of people are a little hesitant and worried as we start 2022…it’s quite easy to be unnerved, hesitant and even scared of what may happen this new year.
However, have you ever considered what could happen if we focused our lives completely on God and his daily presence in our lives? Could you stop and imagine what God can do in you and through you over this next year?? If God is our Saviour and our Lord…and we know that He has everything under control…what could potentially take place in your personal life or family life for His purpose and glory?

We are continuing our ‘Best Year Yet’ Series….

Feb 6th ~ Spiritual Transformation
Feb 13th ~ Moving Forward to My Destiny

Sermon Series

February 23rd ~ Best Year Yet, Spiritual Transformation by Glenn Embree

Genesis 12:1-4 “The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on the earth will be blessed through you.’ So Abram left, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.”

What’s the difference between a ‘good Christian life’ and ‘spiritual transformation?’

1.We start by ___________________ and ____________________ behind.

Genesis 12:1 “The Lord said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.'”

2. We embrace _____________________ rather than _____________________.

Hebrews 11:8 “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”

3. We will experience a  _______________________________________________.

a. We will become passionate about _______________________________.

b. We will become hungry for the __________________________________.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God…”

John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

c. We will experience a ___________________________________________.

1 John 4:7,8 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

d. We will become ___________________________________________________.

4. We will live into _____________________________________ for our lives.

Genesis 12:2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”

God gave Abraham ___________________ but include _________________________.

Genesis 12:4 “So Abram left, as the Lord told him….”

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness…”
